CSA will begin
selecting all-star teams after May 1st per ASA
rules.
Our All-star
selection process includes a combination of three
components:
1.
A panel of
managers and/or coaches from each team in each division will
rank the players in that division. Board members may also
be on this panel.
2.
A skills
evaluation will be held May 3rd-6th
2007.
3.
All-star
managers will have the option of selecting three players for
their team.
Available
pitching and coaching will determine the number of teams for
each division.
All-star
managers will be selected by the Board prior to May 3rd,
2007.
Advanced
Placement players are required to be evaluated and
participate in their “age” division.

There is a
much higher level of commitment and competition for
all-stars.
·
Practice:
Varies by team. Usually 3-4 per week at least 2 hours each.
Playing time
may be affected for those players that miss practice.
·
There is no
guaranteed playing time. This is determined by the coaching
staff.
·
Fees: $175
includes uniforms, tournaments, and accessories.
·
All-star
parents are required to volunteer 1-2 hours to help the
program.
·
Taking a
vacation during all-stars is at the discretion of each
manager.
There are many
benefits to playing all-stars:
·
The
opportunity for your child to experience competitive play.
·
Your child’s
skill development will be enhanced greatly.
·
The team
experience is a great teacher of “life lessons”.
·
The fun of
travel. It is fun to watch 40 girls from CSA splashing
around in the hotel pool after all the games are done.
·
Can't forget
the really cool uniforms that say
Carlsbad All-Stars
across the front. It is special recognition that builds
confidence and self esteem.
Attending the
evaluation does not constitute a commitment to the program.
