Special Opening Day Edition

It's that time of year again...Opening Day for the CSA 2006 Spring Softball Season.  There will be fun and games galore, great food, raffles, prizes and some awesome softball!

Opening Ceremonies start at 9AM!

Be early because parking will be difficult. And DON'T park in the Condo community across the street. You will be ticketed!

Here are some of the highlights:

Team Pictures:

Team pictures are opening day from 7:30AM through 1:10PM so make sure you get with your team mom or manager and get your time.  Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your team picture time so we can try to stay on schedule.

Opening Ceremonies:

Watch our lovely softball ladies parade around the infield.  See the latest greatest banners and rock out to each team's theme song.

Guest Speaker:

Leah O'Brien-Amico, three-time USA Softball Gold-Medalist will be speaking.  She was our guest speaker three years ago and was excellent.  Come meet her and get an autograph!

Gift basket raffle:

You've gotta love this!  Last year the baskets were packed so full we needed to rent a forklift to haul some of them away!!!  Your favorite baskets will be there: BBQ, games, garden, movies, travel and dozens of other themes.  Just buy some tickets, place them in the container and you will have a chance to win the basket of your dreams.

Cow drop raffle:

This is everyone's favorite raffle.  The $500 first prize sure will buy a lot of pitching lessons with Doc...J

Silent auction:  Come see the surprises we've got in store for you this year...

Banner contest:

Will it be "Green Eggs and Ham" or "Purple Pain" or maybe the "Purple Jedi".  You be the judge.  The team from each division with the winning banner wins a value meal for each team member from the CSA snack bar!

Why so many fundraisers?

A parent asked me that the other day. Here's a quick look at some of the things that our fundraisers help pay for:

*       New uniforms: We are continuing with our new, stylish uniforms that we premiered last season.

*       New equipment as needed for all teams.

*       Junior Umpires program.

*       Umpires and game balls

*       Coaching clinics. CSA is supporting our league by sending all our managers to the ACE coaching clinic on Feb. 11th

*       Our CSA scholarship fund.

*       Ongoing projects: Field renovations are coming!!! Look for netting over the backstops and upgraded bullpens!

*       Hosting the Seabreeze All-Star Tournament at Calavera Hills Park

*       Too many other things to mention!!!

American Mortgage and Credit:

Hi, my name is Kyle Souza.  I am a sponsor of the Carlsbad Softball Association and the team "Hot Stuff".   I am originally from a small town called Dartmouth, on the southeast coast of Massachusetts, at the mouth of Cape Cod.  My family and I live here in Carlsbad.  We relocated to Carlsbad due to its proximity to the ocean, the beautiful weather in Southern California and all of the great opportunities for the children such as the great school system.

This is Kailah's (12) first season playing softball and she is sure to become a competitive player in this league.  She has a lot of power and is sure to be a big hitter.  Alec (10) has been playing baseball for over 5 years and has already proven himself to be a highly sought after player in CYB.  Christian (14mos.) is just learning to walk so the possibilities for him are endless.  Cheryl, the mother of all of these beautiful children, is an extremely competent, accomplished and caring RN who is the Director of Nursing at a local nursing home.

I am a Realtor and Mortgage Advisor working with American Mortgage and Credit.  I enjoy coaching sports, doing home improvements, working with computers and any ocean related activities.  Most of all I enjoy helping and serving people.  I specialize in 100% financing, educating you about your credit and what you can do to repair it, if necessary, how you CAN AFFORD a HOME and ensure that you have the best financing for your long term goals.  I will also reveal how you can buy a home for $2000 down or less.  Please feel free to contact me at 760-828-2384 or by email at kyle@1amac.com.
