Seabreeze Invitational Tournament

The Seabreeze Invitational Tournament was a HUGE success at all three venues, Calavera, Poinsettia and Carlsbad High School. Many of the leagues attending the tournament commented on how organized and efficiently the tournament was run.

From the playing end, the highlight for Carlsbad Softball was the Carlsbad 14U team, who made it to the championship game before falling to a strong Mission Viejo team.

There are too many people to thank for making this tournament a success, but one special thanks must go out to Ken Yarnell, Tournament Director, for his countless hours of hard work and dedication.

CSA would like to extend a sincere

THANK YOU

to all others who gave their time.

San Diego District Tournament:

Three Carlsbad teams are going to the ASA State Tournament!!!

The Carlsbad 10U, 12U and 14U teams each finished in third place in the San Diego District tournament! As third place finishers, this means that all three of these Carlsbad teams have earned an invitation to the ASA State Tournament!!!

This will be the first time EVER that Carlsbad will be sending 10U and 12U teams to the State Tournament, and the third time that a Carlsbad 14U team has gone.

The ASA State Tournament will be held on July 15th-17th in at Canyonside Park in Rancho Penasquitos. Look for information in the July 13th newsletter for game dates and times.

FALL BALL IS COMING!

Missing softball? How about trying fall ball this year? Fall ball is a combination of recreational and competitive (Chaos) teams that play one or two games each Sunday. Here are some key points about fall ball:

  • Fall ball generally involves a double-header each Sunday (except rookies, who only play one game). Games are scheduled back to back at 9AM and 11AM or 1PM and 3PM.
  • Fall ball games are against other nearby leagues, so a small amount of travel may be required.
  • Most teams only practice once a week for fall ball. Some teams don't practice at all, depending on the coach.
  • Fall ball recreational games are generally more laid back and are considered developmental. All players get to play and will generally get to try new positions.
  • Fall ball Chaos games are a bit more competitive. Chaos teams are by invitation only, with each Chaos coach selecting his own team.
  • The fees for fall ball are $100. There is an additional fee of $25 if your daughter is selected to play Chaos.
  • Fall ball generally runs from early September to just before Thanksgiving.
  • Fall ball is just plain fun.

Here's what to do if you are interested in playing fall ball:

  • Come to one of the three registration dates below and SIGN UP! We need to have all girls signed up to know how many teams we can field.
  • After the last registration date, coaches will be selected and Chaos coaches will be allowed to contact players for their competitive Chaos team.
  • Girls that are not selected for Chaos will be placed on a recreational team.
  • Players who are not selected for Chaos, and do not wish to play recreational will be entitled to a registration fee refund.
  • Get out in the front yard and toss the ball around...we don't want any sore arms!
