Happy New Year from CSA! We hope you and your family had a safe and happy New Year. Now that the holidays are behind us we can get down to the serious business (and fun) of softball!

We will be sending out bi-monthly newsletters to keep you up to date on all the exciting things that are happening in CSA. We are looking forward to a fun season of softball and softball related events.

Late Registration:

We can still accept late registrations for T-ball, 8U, 10U and 12U so if you have friends that would like to play have them go to the web site, download the registration form and contact Cristi Johnston, Player Agent at cristij@sbcglobal.net.

Girls wishing to late register for 14U will be placed on a waiting list.

Manager and Coaches Corner:

Ace Clinic: Managers are required to attend the ACE clinic on Feb 19th in La Costa. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn drills and coaching tips from the pros. At the end of this seminar you will be certified by ASA. If you have not registered for this clinic contact Chris Powers at chrisiam38@adelphia.net.

Sponsors needed!

We can always use sponsors! If you or someone you know would like more information about sponsoring a team or a table at casino night please contact Connie Matkaluk at cmatkaluk@adelphia.net.

Please Help!

The league is always looking for people willing to volunteer time. We are currently in need of snack bar and field maintenance volunteers. If you are interested contact Michelle Pahl at cvlkco@aol.com

Cow Drop Raffle:

Girls will be given 25 cow drop tickets and information in their packet on team announcements day. This has always been a very successful fundraiser for CSA so let’s keep that going this year. And, first prize is $500! If you need more tickets contact Connie at cmatkaluk@adelphia.net.

Coming Events:

OPENING DAY: Opening day will be Saturday February 5th. We will have the usual parade of teams, gift basket raffle, and much, much more!

Be there or be square!

Helmet Announcement:

If you are planning on buying a helmet for this season, make sure the helmet and face mask/guard has the NOCSAE seal.

Old helmets/face masks that do not have the NOCSAE seal will be acceptable to use for the regular season, but may not be acceptable if your daughter makes all-stars. More info will be provided at that time.

Marketplace:

Have old equipment you want to sell or donate? Looking for equipment at bargain basement prices? Place your ad here in the CSA marketplace. Why go to Ebay when you can sell it here. I’ll start things off…

Free to good owner: Small right handed glove, perfect for T-ball.

Wanted: Old wiffle balls at a good price.

Contact Jeff Schneider at josdc@adelphia.net for the above items or to place an ad.

Junior Umpires:

CSA will be recruiting Jr. Umpires soon! Girls 13 and older will attend umpire clinics for training, and can earn some serious summer spending money. More details in our next newsletter.
