What’s a hit-a-thon?
A hit-a-thon is a hitting contest. A
pitching machine will be used to deliver 10 pitches to each contestant
(coach-pitch for 6U). The fields will be set-up by age divisions and
zones will be marked with point values. The farther the player’s hit
ball travels in the air, the more points the player is awarded. (For
the 6U division, the distance measured will be at the point the ball
comes to rest.) After 10 pitches, the total number of hits and their
associated point totals determines the overall score for that player.
The (qualified, see below) player with the highest point total for the
division wins 1st prize. If the player has qualified for a
grand prize, these same points will be used to determine the overall
grand champion. Team points will be accumulated for every participant
on the team, regardless of how many sponsorships were raised by the
players.
Here’s how it works:
The goal for each player is $100.00 in
sponsorships. For example:

1 sponsor @ $100 each

5 sponsors @ $20 each

10 sponsors @ $10 each

20 sponsors @ $5 each

$50 in sponsorships
qualifies the player for a custom event T-Shirt and enters the player
into the Raffle Prize Drawing. The raffle prize value is approximately
$150.00.

$75 in sponsorships
qualifies for an event T-Shirt, enters the player into the Raffle Prize Drawing and
qualifies for a Division Contest 1st Prize. Each division (6U-14U)
will have a 1st place winner. The 1st prize value
is between $50-$75.
- $100 in sponsorships
qualifies for an event T-Shirt, enters player into the Raffle Prize Drawing, qualifies
for Contest 1st Prize and qualifies for an overall Grand Prize.
The Grand Prize (base on total points earned) can be won by any player
in any division. The Grand Prize value is approximately $300.
How? The fields will be scaled
per age division and points will be collected for each qualified contestant. 1st Place
Prizes and the overall Grand Prize Winner will be based upon the
highest point totals.
Special Prize for the highest
Sponsorship Raised
The player with the highest amount of
sponsorships ($) raised will win a special sponsorship prize.
Separate Raffle for Sponsors
Every sponsor will be entered into a
special Raffle Drawing ($250.00 cash prize) and the sponsor doesn’t have
to be present to win. The Hit-A-Thon form will be used to collect
sponsor’s names and amounts raised.
The Team with the Highest Point
Totals wins a Pizza Party!!! Team points will be
accumulated for every participant on the team, regardless of how many
sponsorships were raised by the players.
What
the CSA player needs to do:
